Coupled with a state‐of‐the‐art facility, Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital is committed to ensuring their patients receive unparalleled service in a comfortable and supportive environment. By doing so, they believe their patients will receive superior results focused on wellness, mobility and quick recovery. Patients are our focus, and our mission is to ensure incomparable surgical and medical care for each individual.

Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital partnered with AOS when they reached capacity with their existing infrastructure. They were experiencing significant growth and had identified multiple concerns that needed to be addressed. They wished to implement a solution that would mitigate the existing issues as well as be flexible enough to compensate for future growth.

AOS helped design a three‐year plan to move Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital’s environment in the right direction. Priorities and timelines were set on each initiative and the AOS Account Manager stays in communication to make sure the plan remains in alignment with the current business strategy.

The hospital started by upgrading the switch network and securing their external user base with a new VPN model. They also incorporated an EMC SAN and CAS storage solutions for their core system.

“To date, the control of remote access has exceeded our expectations,” boasted Tim Pugsley, IT Manager. “We can easily log and troubleshoot all remote connectivity issues in a minimal amount of time. Our PACS system has increased dramatically in efficiency by incorporating an EMC Centera for our “Near‐Line” data archive. Our new switched network is designed with redundant core switches, fiber uplinks from all other switches, and VLANs for security. Our critical business data is now stored on a SAN for scalability as well as speed.”

Tim was impressed by AOS’ “depth of knowledge within the Cisco and EMC technologies...and the ability to understand our business and help develop the right path for us. The follow up after the implementation has always been great and the AOS Account Manager is always accessible.”
