The board of AOS has selected a new CEO, Jon Groves. We welcomed him aboard officially on November 28th. Jon was chosen for two important reasons: he holds the same commitment to ethics that we do here at AOS and he has deep executive experience in our business.
Jon comes to AOS from GDT in Dallas where he was VP of Sales driving over $700 million in revenue. He had 6 executive reports overseeing 125 employees. He was responsible for sales, presales solutions architects, marketing, and vendor relationships. Under Jon’s leadership at GDT they were named Cisco’s Enterprise Partner of the Year-Americas.
Previous to GDT, Jon spent 7 years with INX as a Senior VP of Technology and General Manager of Sales (Federal Division). While at INX they won a global Cisco award and VMware Partner of the Year-Americas. In 2012, INX was acquired by Presidio and Jon remained on the leadership team for a transitional period, after which he left to join a Cloud/Orchestration company for 2 years to honor his non-compete.
Early in his career, Jon spent 5 years at Cisco, where he started as an SE Manager and then transitioned to Senior Enterprise AM. In that role, he consistently preformed in the top 20% of all Cisco AMs year over year.
Prior to Cisco, Jon distinguished himself as an engineer in the Air Force and at American Airlines. He was among the first engineers to achieve a CCIE certification.
Jon will be working closely with Gary Alexander, Chairman of AOS, as he performs a deep dive into AOS operations. All of Gary’s direct reports will now report to Jon; although Gary intends to stay actively involved and support him throughout 2017.
